The Psyche tapestry series currently on view in Weaving the Myth of Psyche was conserved in 1991 at the Textile Conservation Laboratory at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City. Marlene Eidelheit, Director of the Textile Laboratory, worked on the series 21 years ago and will describe the cleaning and conservation treatment carried out by the lab as well as the general workmanship involved in creating and conserving centuries-old tapestries. Free and open to the public. A reception with wine for purchase will take place before the lecture from 5 – 6pm.
