Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and coffee in the Museum Café and join Patricia Hickson, Emily Hall Tremaine Curator of Contemporary Art, for a tour of Deb Sokolow/MATRIX 166: Some Concerns About the Candidate. Inspired by drama of the recent Presidential campaign, Sokolow imagines a Congressional race in text and images told through the eyes of a campaign worker— “you.” In the role of the narrator, you become increasingly concerned about the behavior of the persuasive candidate Jim Jones and the questionable tactics being employed by the crafty campaign consultant David Copperfield in order to win the upcoming election. Ms. Hickson will discuss the artist’s use of truth and fiction, comic book strategies, and conspiracy theories in the work.

Reservations required, (860) 838-4171, please use the Avery Door entrance on Atheneum Square North.
