Parking

There are many options for parking when visiting the museum.

Front Street South Garage
Monday – Friday before 5 pm: $3 for the first hour; $2 for each additional hour
Saturday & Sunday and weekdays after 5 pm: $5 (flat fee)

Front Street South Garage is located in the Spotlight Theater Complex, directly behind the museum between Prospect Street and Columbus Boulevard. Access the garage from Front Street (off of Prospect Street) or from Arch Street (off of Columbus Boulevard).

Trumbull-on-the-Park Garage:
Monday – Friday
$3 Museum Visitor Parking. Visit The Museum Shop to have your ticket validated.

On-Street Parking
Two-hour kiosk parking is available, $1 per hour. The kiosks accept coins, debit cards, and credit cards. Display the printed parking receipt on the dashboard inside your vehicle. Parking is free after 6 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. Please observe posted signs. Some areas are tow zones after 3:30 pm weekdays.

Star Shuttle
The Star Shuttle is a free bus service that operates in downtown Hartford. Pick-ups run approximately every 15 minutes, Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Handicap Parking
Limited handicap parking is available on Prospect Street, near the Museum entrance on Atheneum Square North, and also in front of City Hall on Main Street. All kiosk parking is free with a valid handicap pass.

Handicap Access
The side entrance on Atheneum Square North is accessible to wheelchairs and baby strollers. Wheelchairs are available, first-come, first-served, at no charge. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are also located here.
