Celebrate the special exhibition Utamaro and the Lure of Japan after hours, with music, activities, food, cash bar, and a film!

Enjoy performances by Taiko drummers, music by NYC-based DJ Keiichiro Nakajima, Origami and Japanese lessons, and a Kimono dressing workshop. Plus, visit the Wadsworth Atheneum’s Izakaya—our Pop-Up Sake Bar!

Curator Oliver Tostmann will give a 30 minute tour of Utamaro and the Lure of Japan at 6pm, and artist Valeska Soares will give a talk about her MATRIX 176 installation in Avery Court at 7pm.

A screening of the Japanese comedic drama Shall We Dance (1996) begins at 8pm, and is included with Art After Dark admission.

Tickets are $10/$5 members, and will be available at the door.
