Coney Island Conversation at NYPL

Take the opportunity to visit the New York Public Library for a conversation inspired by Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland, 1861-2008. Guests will hear firsthand from Robin Jaffee Frank, the Wadsworth Atheneum’s Chief Curator and Krieble Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture, Terry Carbone, the Andrew W. Mellon Curator of American Art at the Brooklyn Museum, Charles Denson, Executive Director of the Coney Island History Project, Charles Musser, Profesor of Film & Media Studies at Yale University, and special guest artist Red Grooms. The panel will discuss the allure and excitement of Coney Island, which occupies not only a strip of sand in Brooklyn, but also a singular place in the American imagination.

This event takes place at the New York Public Library.
