Connecticut Lyric Opera presents Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas complete with staging, costumes, and the VMI Festival Orchestra. The story, based on Book IV of Virgil’s Aeneid, recounts the love of Dido, Queen of Carthage, for the Trojan hero Aeneas, and her despair when he abandons her.
