Based on the work of William Shakespeare and set in sixteenth-century Venice, a merchant secures a loan for a friend with romantic ambitions. When the borrower is unable to repay the debt, the bitterly vengeful creditor demands a gruesome payment instead. Preceded by a 1:15pm tour of Giorgione’s La Vecchia.
