A documentary that tells the story of love, marriage, and a fight for equality. Unlikely heroes—octogenarian Edie Windsor and attorney Roberta Kaplan—are on a quest for justice. Edie has been forced to pay a huge estate-tax bill upon the death of her spouse because the federal government has denied benefits to same-sex couples. In defense of her more than forty-year relationship with the love of her life, Edie decides to sue the United States government with Kaplan serving as her attorney.

2017. USA. 63 min. Not Rated. Directed by Donna Zaccaro. Starring Edie Windsor, Roberta Kaplan.
