Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast in the Museum Café, followed by a tour of Peter Blume: Nature and Metamorphosis and Visions from Home: Surrealism in Connecticut. Join Erin Monroe, Assistant Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture, for an introduction to Blume’s works and those of his peers, including Alexander Calder, Arshile Gorky, and Yves Tanguy, who also resided in Northwestern Connecticut. Monroe will explore how this artistic circle exchanged ideas and how the rural environment of Connecticut directly impacted their work.
