Museum members are invited to explore the rare and dazzling objects collected by legendary financier J. Pierpont Morgan, at an exclusive preview of the special exhibition Morgan: Mind of the Collector.
Hartford native J. Pierpont Morgan traveled the globe gathering the largest collection of art and cultural artifacts of his time, exceeding 20,000 works assembled in only 23 years. Morgan: Mind of the Collector celebrates the centennial anniversary of Morgan’s bequest of more than 1,350 of those objects to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1917.
