Second Saturdays for Families: Furnishing Finds

Don’t want to make the bed? You’ll feel differently after viewing the exhibition Bed Furnishings in Early America with a docent. Learn how important beds were in a household, and then create an artwork to take home inspired by bedding textiles and accessories. Museum admission is free during Second Saturdays activities.

Pattern Remix: Recreate patterns in the Wadsworth Collection using a variety of mixed media. What colors, textures and shapes make your artwork unique? Avery Court

Embroidery Squares: Become inspired by the textiles in the Bed Furnishings show and use various materials to embroider a design to take home. Hartford Courant Room
