Second Saturdays for Families | Winter Celebrations

A day of winter fun. Learn about seasonal customs from around the world and enjoy live music performed by University of Hartford students. Admission is free during Second Saturdays Activities.


Hanukkah Traditions | Join the Mandell JCC of Greater Hartford and learn about Hanukkah traditions. Then create a custom dreidel to take home.
Paper Creations | Visit with the Japanese Society of Hartford’s table and learn about Japanese winter celebrations. Then create festive Origami works.
Kwanzaa Celebrations | Work alongside The Amistad Center for Art & Culture. Learn about Kwanzaa as you design a work of art to take home.
Care Packages | Create a bag of hope for children in the community and then fill it with personal items. Care packages will be donated to a local charity.
DYI Ornaments and Gift Boxes | Design an ornament inspired by the winter solstice. Then place it in your unique gift box.


ABCs: Art Books and Connections | Make connections between art and books during this docent-guided tour for young children and accompanying adults; 10:30am & 12:30pm.
Ask About Art | Talk to a docent about what you see; 11am.
