A delightful and elegant soundscape of music complements the exhibition Sean Scully: Landline. Mozart’s eerily elegant Adagio and Rondo, K. 617 features a prominent keyboard part originally performed on glass harmonica, which will be performed on Celesta. German composer Louis Spohr was enamored with Mozart, and this infatuation is apparent in his Septet in A minor, Op. 147 which interweaves delightfully intricate piano lines with expertly balanced wind and string writing, creating a playful and sophisticated soundscape. Sergei Prokofiev’s Quintet, Op. 39 complements the program with its fiery and mysterious tone.
