Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Wadsworth!

Volunteers are dedicated ambassadors for the museum whose time and experience support our mission to serve the public. There are many opportunities for volunteers to contribute to the museum.

Some volunteers greet and support the visitor experience during programs like Second Saturdays for Families and Community Days.

Others join our Docent Council to train to lead tours of the museum or the Friends of the Wadsworth Atheneum to support major fundraising events.

Volunteers with specialized expertise are sometimes placed in related museum departments to work on specific projects.
