Family Tour: Eyes on Art | Every Second Saturday, 12:15pm
Learn about Edward Gorey’s artistic biography in a lively discussion of his work with Gorey expert and aficionado James Edwards, professor of art at UMass Dartmouth.
This lecture derives from the exhibition ‘E’ is for Elephants, The Etchings of Edward Gorey on view in 2014 at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. It explores how Edward Gorey’s art collection shaped his motivations, visual language, and the very content of his work. While Gorey’s life experiences may have been limited geographically, the personal collection he left behind is magnificent in range.
Free with museum admission.
