Family Tour: Eyes on Art | Every Second Saturday, 12:15pm
Explore how modern sculptors use nature as inspiration for their abstractions with Angela Parker, Docent and Tour Programs Manager. Consider how modern outdoor sculptures interact with the nature that surrounds them. Free. Availability is limited to 25 participants and advance registration is required.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment which secured women’s constitutional right to vote, Connecticut State Troubadour Nekita Waller shares an acoustic music performance among the sculpture on the Main Street lawn of the museum. To mark the centennial the façade of the Wadsworth will be illuminated in the official suffrage colors of purple and gold, as part of the nationwide Forward into Light campaign. A tour of the museum grounds highlights the history of the Wadsworth and sites significant to the development of the museum and its most renowned patrons. The bronze statue of Nathan Hale that has stood in front of the Wadsworth since 1894 is being restored. Francis Miller, directing conservator of Conserve ART will demonstrate some of the techniques he will use to clean the sculpture to draw out the original hues and patinas of the bronze. Join the discussion to learn more and observe the work in progress. Free. Availability is limited and pre-registration is required.

On the heels of National Voter Registration Day, take an unscripted and unfiltered lunchtime break to watch the Sea Tea Improv troupe espouse the importance of exercising your right to vote. Register to vote during the program or anytime via voterregistration.ct.gov/.

An early autumn evening of acoustic folk and bluegrass music. Connecticut-based acoustic trio, Lindsey Fyfe, Joe Lemeris, and Joe DeLillo perform on the Wadsworth’s Main Street lawn. Free.

Render the familiar more abstract and focus your lens on details to present an object, or a story, from a new and different perspective. Offered in collaboration with Defining Studios, this course includes one outdoor photography session and one virtual Lightroom and Photoshop editing workshop. Classes subject to rescheduling due to inclement weather. Required equipment: a camera, a freshly charged camera battery, and a reflector.
$50; $35 members. Registration covers the following set of dates:

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s jazz quartet performs on Burr Mall, the plaza next to the museum that boasts Alexander Calder’s majestic Stegosaurus as its centerpiece. Fill your lunchtime with an uplifting musical interlude inspired by the works of art around the museum. Free and open to the public. No restroom facilities will be available at the museum and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead for their comfort. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to May 21 at noon.
