Family Tour: Eyes on Art | Every Second Saturday, 12:15pm

Between Life & Death: Art and the Afterlife offers a glimpse into this mysterious passage through American, European, and Mexican works of art from the collection. Join Wadsworth director Matthew Hargraves, curator Vanessa Sigalas, and artist Carlos Hernández Chávez as they explore the exhibition and reflect on an ofrenda, a traditional Mexican memorial alter, created by Chávez to celebrate Día de Muertos, the Day of the Dead. Free with admission.

This joyous film reinvents the classic Wizard of Oz with a modern and urban twist that follows the adventures of Dorothy, a young girl from Harlem, as she is whisked away to the magical land. With an all-star cast including Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Richard Pryor, The Wiz delights with its infectious musical numbers, dazzling choreography, and colorful sets. Presented in conjunction with The Amistad Center for Art & Culture exhibition Love Overflowing. On Saturday at 1pm, tour the exhibition with curator Frank Mitchell. On Sunday, join a family artmaking activity from noon to 2pm. Special activities included with film or museum admission. One free popcorn per person included with film admission.
