Dr. Leo Mazow, Curator of American Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, discusses Storied Strings: The Guitar in American Art, the first exhibition to explore the instrument’s symbolism in American art which includes the Wadsworth’s painting Interior – Lady at a Table (1836) by Amasa Hewins (American, 1795-1855).
